Redeemer News & Events

Redeemer Academy - Acts: Starts October 20 at 9 am!  Marshall Griffin will begin four classes on the book of Acts. The book of Acts recounts the incredible story of the earliest followers of Jesus and the explosive growth of their movement as the gospel extended from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. More than merely an interesting history, though, this is also our story. You can register HERE! (Childcare is provided).

GPTV Explorer Returns! This Sunday GPTV Explorer returns from their hiatus! This year, the cast and crew will be on stage every other month! The 3rd - 5th grade class can plan to downstairs for the whole service!

Project Belong Lunch - Engage Arlington of Redeemer has partnered with Project Belong as a way to care and support children and families in adoption or foster care. There will be a lunch TOMORROW immediately after service. If interested in attending, let Jackie know!

REMINDER: Members’ Meeting on Sunday, October 27 at 5 pm (childcare is provided) when elders provide an update and plan following their leadership retreat last week!

September 2019 Financial Update: Thank you for giving financially to enable Redeemer to carry out the mission and vision of the church articulated through the budget. Leadership is currently reviewing and planning for our 2020 budget. A 2019 update is, through September 2019, Redeemer has received $568,414, which is still 7.12% below our year-to-date budgeted giving. We encourage each member to consider how they can help the church meet the budget goal that is going toward the work Redeemer is doing in Arlington. Our 2020 budget presentation will be Sunday, December 1.

Volunteer Needs

Children's Ministry Volunteers:  If you’re interested in serving, please let Jackie know!

Union Church Job Fair - Oct 23: In 2015, Shaun and Melissa Cross and several other Redeemer members planted Union Church in Northeast DC. Union is hosting a job fair for their surrounding community on October 23. It takes over 100% of their church membership to pull this off, and we would love to bless Union and their community by helping out with the job fair.

The signup form provides more information on the specific volunteer roles. Contact Jason Whetsell for more info.

Foster Parent Night Out (FPNO) - Nov 9: As part of EngageRedeemer’s partnership with Project Belong, we are excited to support Emmanuel in hosting a foster parent night out for Arlington county on Saturday, November 9. If interested in joining the volunteer team or interested in other foster care support opportunities, let Jackie Black know!

ESL Fall Semester: The ESL team launched start the fall semester on Monday, Sep 16 with over 25 students and three classes. Volunteers are still needed to assist with set-up on Monday and/or Thursday nights. In addition, volunteers are still needed to bring snacks on Monday nights (reimbursed by Redeemer). Please contact Buck Black for more details.
