We believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ—the redemptive story of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection—has the power to transform our lives, our city, and this world.
Redeemer exists to make and mature followers of Jesus who apply this gospel into all of our lives.
We seek to accomplish this by living in this world as servants and missionaries, studying and applying his word as students, and participating in his church family as builders.
Redeemer Church of Arlington was planted in 2010 by a team of about fifty people. We wanted to build not just a meeting, but a gospel family, committed to one another and to our city.
We opened our doors in May, 2010, appointed our first elders in April, 2012, and approved the church constitution in June, 2012.
Since 2010, our body has grown as new believers have placed their faith in Jesus Christ, and Christians have found a church family to call home. We also had the privilege in 2015 to help start Union Church in Washington DC.
We celebrate the work of Christ being accomplished in the DC metropolitan area, and are honored to be a part of it. Our hope is to partner with and plant many more gospel-preaching churches in the coming years.
Redeemer is a local community that is rooted in a deep historical faith that has been expressed throughout history in what are called creeds, confessions and statements of faith.
Here are several that we affirm as true statements of our doctrinal beliefs.
